Engage with the Pacific Museum of Earth in your own space, through dynamic programming tailored to your group’s interests! A Museum Interpreter will facilitate an exploration of Earth Science topics in a venue of your choice, using real museums specimens and hands-on activities.
Offsite programs follow different structures depending on your group’s topic of choice. For example…
- ‘Paleontology’ Focus: Journey through geologic time, taking a look at the animal and plant fossils that tell us about the past! Specific topics may include geologic time periods, fossil formation, or evolution.
- ‘Geology’ Focus: Take a closer look at the natural materials of our planet, and the processes by which they form! Specific topics may include rocks and minerals, plate tectonics, natural hazards, or natural resources.
- ‘Astronomy’ Focus: Explore Earth’s connections to the rest of our solar system and beyond! Specific topics may include raw materials in space or what makes a planet habitable.

Should your group wish to explore the museum and our resources from your own space, you can access our educator resources, a virtual tour, and learn more about our exhibits before or after your program!

Many of our program activities incorporate written, visual, or auditory elements. Please include a note in your booking request or email us at pmebookings@eoas.ubc.ca to let us know how we can meet the access needs of your group.
We understand that some schools and community organisations may be facing socioeconomic barriers to accessing programming at the PME. If the cost of programming is a barrier to you, please reach out to us — we would be happy to work out a reduced rate or payment structure that accommodates your needs. We offer free bookings for Indigenous groups, including First Nations, Métis, and Inuit groups, Indigenous community programs and educational initiatives.
